Fasting
Fasting
"But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you."

Churches all over the global are fasting like never before. Well done. They sense the urgency of the hour. The purposes of fasting are to strengthen prayer, to seek Gods will, to express grief, for deliverance and protection, to express repentance, to humble ourselves before God, to prepare to work for God, to overcome temptation and to express Love and Worship to God.
Fasting empowers us to bypass our own will and allows the Holy Spirit to work in us. Before Jesus Fasted He was led BY the spirit into the wilderness. After fasting for forty days He left the wilderness being , "Full of the Spirit". So fasting strengthens us. Fasting and prayer go hand in hand. If we humble ourselves and pray, then God will hear us and answer us. Fasting detaches us from the world, and prayer attaches us to the Spirit.
So thank you for fasting. Keep up the good work. The Lord will deliver you and set you free. May you rise with courage and confidence as you pray with greater power. AMEN
